Amos Bowman Maps
In 1885 and 1886 Amos Bowman was engaged to map the geological and topography of the Cariboo Mining Districts of British Columbia. In 1885 he worked primarily on the geological and topographic work and then in 1886 devoted his time to the geological and mining features of the area. He published his general report of the Geological Survey, together with the maps in 1887-1888. The final printing and correction of the maps was only completed after a long delay in June 1894. No descriptive information was written to accompany the mining maps. The maps contain detailed notes which would prove invaluable in later years as interest in the area was continually renewed.
